Late April this year, emails were supposedly leaked implicating the Labor party in underhand dealings with Applied Scholastics, a Scientology linked company.

Later it was revealed they were forgeries. There is an element of truth in this discussion, regardless of the emails legitimacy, it’s become evident to the general public that Scientology is not a credible organisation. This same truth we have been reiterating. Scientology is dangerous, and association with it is damaging not only to yourself but your reputation.

The public are becoming more aware of the insidious nature of Scientology and its appendage organisations. Their underhand tactics are now more than ever becoming transparent to the general public.

I do not believe that this would have been achieved as quickly without efforts like Project Chanology and groups like AnonSA.

This is why we must continue pressing on.

INTERNET DENIZENS AND REGULAR FOLKS,

On February 21st we celebrate one year of Project Chanology. We encourage all whom have come in the past year (and those whom haven’t yet) to come and party with us at the Anoniversary!

The video above talks of some of our successes in 2008, and that is only what has happened in ADELAIDE, there has been much going on all over the world.

Despite fear-mongering propaganda from Scientology, we have proven in the hearts and minds of the South Australian public and government that we are peaceful protestors.

This is no easy feat, considering for most, the concept of a friendly person with no outward identity can seem daunting.

But we have done it before and we will do it again!

We have come a long way in a very short amount of time.

Let it be known:

While this isn’t technically Chanology related, I feel that this is a subject that hits very close to home for Anons.

We need to save the internet from Conroy, and the Governments proposed Internet Filter.

To quote the South Australian Facebook Event:

The Australian Federal Government is pushing forward with a plan to force Internet Service Providers [ISPs] to censor the Internet for all Australians. This plan will waste tens of millions of taxpayer dollars and slow down Internet access.

Despite being almost universally condemned by the public, ISPs, State Governments, Media and censorship experts, Communications Minister Stephen Conroy is determined to force this filter into your home.

What is the Government’s plan?

Although the final details of the filtering plans have been kept under wraps, the Minister is on record as being firmly committed to a mandatory clean-feed internet to Australian homes, schools and public computers. A trial of filtering software by the ACMA has already been performed, with a “live” field pilot to follow later this year. We must act fast before millions of dollars are squandered on this technically impractical and democratically unworkable solution in search of a problem.
What do we know so far?

• Filtering will be mandatory in all homes and schools across the country.
• The clean feed will censor material that is “harmful and inappropriate” for children.
• The filter will require a massive expansion of the ACMA’s blacklist of prohibited content.
• The Government wants to use dynamic filters of questionable accuracy that slow the internet down by an average of 30%.
• The filtering will target legal as well as illegal material.
• $44m has been budgeted for the implementation of this scheme so far.
• The clean-feed for children will be opt-out, but a second filter will be mandatory for all Internet users.
• A live pilot deployment is going ahead in the near future.

What we don’t know is just as important.

• What age level is the country’s Internet to be made appropriate for? 15? 10? 5 years old?
• Who decides what material is “appropriate” for Australians to see?
• How are lists of “illegal” material compiled?
• Who will maintain the blacklist of prohibited sites?
• How can sites mistakenly added to the list be removed?

All of us want to see children protected from content that could be disturbing or harmful. The clean-feed filter is not a good way to go about this, and could actually reduce the safety of children online.

There is a Nationwide protest for against the filter that will be occuring in South Australia on Saturday December 13th from 12 noon to 4 pm at the steps of Parliment House.

Take note, fellow anons, that Adelaide plans to take to the streets to protest the dangerous practices of the Scientology corporation on Saturday November 22nd. The usual meeting place and time applies (2pm at Victoria Square’s North-West corner). Ditto the usual expectations of behaviour (don’t break the law, keep yr cool, etc).

For further details, get into the planning thread, or hit the IRC and start locking them in! A poster has been designed, but handouts and even the theme, still need to be developed. Get into it anonymous!!

The raid is today, in 1 and a half hours. Get your butt ready and into the CBD now!

Route (Map):

We will follow a similar route to the last raid, except doubling back for epic exposure

• Start at Victoria Square at 2:00pm
• Walk down King William St at 2:15pm
• Turn onto Rundle Mall
• Split into 2 groups and Continue down either side of Rundle St
• Walk down to Rymill Park
• Catch our breath, and turn around
• Head back down Rundle St, again, in 2 groups
• Back through Rundle Mall
• Back up King William St
• Turn onto Waymouth St
• Protest out the front of Scientology
• Continue down to Victoria Sq to conclude the Raid where we started

Rules:

You know them, the same as previous raids.

• Peaceful
• Obey all road rules
• Don’t confront Scilons
• No Weapons, Drugs or alcohol
• Bring a mask, Flyers and a fun-loving atitude

We are moving full steam ahead into planning for the next raid. While alot of the details have not been finalised at the moment, we have made headway in discussing many points.

All details are subject to change, please keep updated through the forums and for the announcement on the front page. If you don’t like any of these details, get on the forums and get discussing, these raids are yours and they are not possible without your contribution.

Topic:

This month, we might do the “Tax the Cult”/”Tax the Bastards” theme again. It is an extremely hot topic at the moment and should continue to be the focus of our protest in an attempt to make the government perform a review of Religious Charities, and ATO to check their records to make sure the tax-exempt businesses have been keeping the high level of transparency and strict record-keeping required for accepting donations peoples money.

Masks:

Whoever put their name down for a Guy Fawkes mask in this thread, one of our resourceful anon, AnonVocis has received the shipment and they will be available for pick-up on the day, at the cost of $7.00 each. There may be some spares available, send AnonVocis a private message in our forums to see if there is one available, or to arrange some alternate form of picking it up.

Business Cards:

We have 1000 Anonymous business cards on order, they will be made available to any Anon who may want some to hand out.

Event Tickets:

We are looking into organising event tickets with some of the donation money for the raid to hand out to people to invite them along to our protest. They will be handed out to the public and left in places for people to find before the protest to invite them along.

Flyers/Pamphlets/Info/Mini-Raids/Misc Stuff:

We always need new flyers and other handouts for our protests, if your creative, get making em, post them to our media gallery and people will hand them out.

We also need mini-raids to help spread the word and visibility of Anon, we need to get them organised and people postering/handing out flyers and invites to the protest. This will be extra important once we get the event tickets, we don’t want em to goto waste.
