March 15th. Things just got real.

March 14, 2008 12:08 pm by Anonymous

Avast Anon! The Scientology offices have fired a warning shot across the bow.

The Adelaide office now recognize us as a very real threat to the state of their money-making scam. Instead of responding via their faxed response from headquarters they have applied for a permit with the council, for a march on the same day & time, following an extremely similar route to the one found on this very site. Due to council policies, this nullifies both permits, so neither party have a permit to march.

They are paying attention.

This is an attempt to stop us from marching but we will go ahead as planned. No confrontation is expected, we believe it to be a deterrent not a threat but there is still a possibility that Scientology will be marching along with us. If they choose to do so, we will allow them to, as they are well within their legal right to do so but we suggest you do not communicate with them at all directly and instead make your voice to the public much louder than theirs. (Edit: See bottom of post)

We are paying attention also.

We have full Police support, and they will be meeting us at Victoria Square and out the front of the Scientology Office on Waymouth St, we will also be monitored by foot patrols and CCTV along the march route. We are fully covered by insurance in case something does go wrong, but we will still have to be on our extra best behaviour. We recommend you pay attention to this instructional protest video:

Things are still powering on through and beyond the 15th.Scientology offices around the world have also stood up and paid attention to us, which can be demonstrated by their latest smear video, which can be viewed below. A restraining order was also taken out upon “Anonymous” in Clearwater seen here

As you can see they have edited our videos to make us sound dangerous. Scientology’s attempts at discrediting their critics are well documented and it is much easier to discredit someone in the public eyes if they are wearing a mask. If you are new to Anonymous and want to see what we are really like please go here.

EDIT:
If this post is anything to go by, it looks like we will have company, we must make our voices louder than theirs, and we must know the facts, please brush up on your knowledge of both their human rights abuses and tax exempt status. There is a very real possibility you may need to confront them, use only information, no strong words and don’t play in to any of their games that may incite angered emotions.

DOUBLE EDIT:
Read this for even more information. As well as this SMH article on the ‘Youth for Human Rights Commission’

OH GAWD WHEN WILL THESE EDITS END:

Wise Beard Man, Mark Bunker, speaking about the current state of affairs leading up to Mar15th (also moved the publish date forward to keep the article up the top)

Thanks to TTS and Anon23517 who pointed this out in the comments.

We will not be swayed.

We are Anonymous. We are many, for we are legion. Expect us.

Fix’ed :P

Cross link much? Discussion of tactics.

This has been a tactical blunder by the Co$, lets make the most of it.

Updated OP, guys keep your cool and be vigilant, use only information as your weapon.

talonn wrote a comment on March 13, 2008

Bring a camera if you can, if a Scientologist tries to provoke anyone or destabilize the protest aggressively, record it.

that_guy wrote a comment on March 13, 2008

@ talonn – duely noted there.

i have a feeling something will go down despite the fact we are covered by the guys in blue, so things will certainly be interesting on the 15th

Treat these people as friends, not enemies. Do not abuse them – this would be immature. Share the knowledge, inform them, talk with them. If necessary think of them as a member of the public you’re handing flyers to. Remember to think twice about how your behaviour may be perceived by external parties. This is your chance to share what you know with some of the people who need to hear it most. Don’t forget that you can still have fun – fun and happiness is a sign of strength.

The CoS has organised this purely to try and generate aggressive responses by anons in order to paint themselves favorably towards the media. If they succeed they win and anonymous lose.

Stay wise, stay smart, and enjoy yourselves on the scorcher of a day that will be March 15.

Hey, Admin.

Just want to point you to this: http://sydney.indymedia.org.au/story/scientology-attempts-disrupt-planned-protest-using-human-rights-front-group – it’s got some good links and tips in it that might be worth looking into for here, too.

Looks like CO$ is trying to do more then interrupt the protest. Also from J Swift http://forums.enturbulation.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6849&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=150
The post is near the end of the page. They may try to start fights, Anon’s don’t take the bait!

Moar Inportant copypasta, regarding human rights violations by the Co$:

Article 12

No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.

http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html

Article 16

(1) Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.

(2) Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses.

(3) The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.

http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html

Article 18 Freedom of religion and belief (1998)

This report addresses the human right to freedom of religion and belief in Australia under article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The right includes the freedom to have or adopt a religion or belief of one’s choice, including theistic, non-theistic and atheistic beliefs.

The freedom of religion and belief extends to the right to manifest one’s religion or belief in worship, observance, practice and teaching. The right to manifest a belief is subject only to limitations provided by law which are necessary to protect public safety, order, health or morals or the fundamental rights and freedoms of others.

The report concludes that current laws are inadequate to protect the right to manifest Indigenous beliefs and religious beliefs concerning autopsies and medical procedures such as blood transfusions. It recommends the development of appropriate laws and guidelines which properly accommodate the right to manifest these beliefs and practices. Laws criminalising some Pagan practices are discriminatory, violate the freedom of belief and should be repealed.

The report recommends the enactment of a federal Religious Freedom Act covering all aspects of the right. The Act should make discrimination and vilification on the ground of religion and belief unlawful.

Everyone make sure you have plenty of water and wear sunscreen. If you’re not wearing a party hat, wear something with a wide brim. We don’t want pictures of mass gatherings of Anonymous passed out from heatstroke!

What time did you go? There were well over 200 people there…

Unless you were in another universe?

We left the square at about 2.30-3 and we were supposed to meet there at 2.

@Lex and @gman

It appears we have found epic fail guy… :P

annon wrote a comment on March 17, 2008

anyone else find it just a bit retarded that the very act of applying for a permit can be used to revoke a prior one? that’s some idiotic regulation… so if I don’t like you and your cause all I have to do is maliciously follow you around double-applying behind your back to get all your shit canceled?
any lawmaker with common sense (ha ha, I made an oxymoron) would have made it “first come, first served” – we got here first, fuck you, go reschedule.
