Protest Addition - Mass Mail Effect.

April 15, 2008 12:23 am by Anonymous

Hello Anonymous and Non-Anonymous alike.

Today we would like to announce another part of our next protest:

Mass Mail Effect.

Put simply, one of the best way to effect change is to contact your politician, in this case federal representatives.

We live in a democracy, so it’s best we start treating it exactly like that.

So before the next protest, we will collaboratively create a form letter to address to issues such as the churches tax exempt status, it’s policy of disconnection and more.

Once finished, we will post the letter on this website ready for download and printing. Next protest, we ask that anon bring a copy of this letter, a stamp and a self addressed envelope.

We encourage that you find out Which electorate you live in if you are unaware, and Which Member of Parliament to address it to.

Once we start, we will form a line next to a postbox, and upon a given signal, we will one by one post each letter to your local representative in a single democratic act our voices will be heard. YOU will be the one to post the letter, so your anonymity will not be broken.

This will be filmed and any responses that are received afterward should be emailed to AnonSA.

We also encourage non-anonymous (and Anonymous whom cannot attend the protest) to post the letter on the date of the protest to show their support and help ensure the anonymity of members.

We encourage you to spread the word and this idea.

Excellent idea. When’s that going to be?

IDEA RANT 2>>

More importantly where..

On a side note I was considering that it would be good if we could change the location at the end of a protest to a more effective place.

E.g. The middle of the mall under the veranda for instance . (I know there are probably issues with this but I use it as an example as we would have more exposure than 4 security guards, and the occasional passers by..

Perhaps we could as someone suggested earlier end out steps of parliament house? Or maybe at the lawned area on North Terrace opposite the Myer Centre? Maybe go the other way down rundle mall, then rundle street and end out near Rymill park? Basically somewhere where we can have more exposure and we can generate more poetic speeches to a larger audience.

I bring this up now as it appears the location for the mass mail should be somewhere more prominent? E.g. how about either:
a) We go into the City Cross arcade, (middle of rundle mall) and post it in the actual post office
b) Probably better to use the mail boxes near the taxi ranks near the veranda in the middle of the mall. (Far more exposure and less invasive to a public shopping centre.

Can Admin / whoever determine any council issues with this?
Also is there a problem with everyone marching down rundle mall? (sending half down pultney seems ineffective…)

Would be glad to hear people’s opinions on these?

Also on a swedish anon site they pointed out how easily helium balloons with anonymous logos / policies are eaten up by the public (far more than fliers)’ Hey may this is the answer to our littering problem!!! =) If they let go.. theres no rubbish!

hell yes.

Let’s roll this out worldwide, kids.

Is this the finished letter? I’ll definitely be there mailing one.

CecilBAnon wrote a comment on April 16, 2008

This is not the finished letter, as why it says “Letter template to be changed” and it says “to be created”. Maybe I should edit anons post and make that clearer.

it’s a pretty awesome letter, but I think it need a little editing, it needs stuff about disconnection in there. EVERYONE GET ON AND EDIT IF YOU HAVE IDEAS.

Yes.

YOU.

NOW.

Ah whoops, I just glossed over that. My writing skills are passable at best but I’ll see if I can add anything

So they can’t even counter-protest without trying to charge people for information? Oh yeah that’ll work

Anon23517 wrote a comment on April 18, 2008

@talonn (Babylon 5 reference at all? :))

Well, we’re not talking about intellectual giants here, so… especially after that awful situation with the Norwegian lass who killed herself after getting the stress test results back.

thetan wrote a comment on April 18, 2008

@ talonn: Hey whats happened in Norway?

Re: Anon23517’s link

So does anyone know where they’ll be located? Just to take a gander.. and see how the public responds to them…

Anon23517 wrote a comment on April 18, 2008

@Thetan, no, there doesn’t seem to be a consensus on that, but it seems that the push is on to get people out on the streets. Maybe in the Mall, considering the soldier guy who gives out the Good News Bible is there, they might try that?

Although, considering the latest shitstorm with YouTube and Norway and now Russia, they might not be quite so enthusiastic about going out to meet the people.

Oh, and a rundown of what’s going on in Norway: http://forums.enturbulation.org/15-breaking-news/norway-mps-daughter-commit-suicide-after-ci-personality-test-9235/

I’m really disgusted, actually. It’s a whole new level of LOW.

thetan wrote a comment on April 19, 2008

That’s pretty sick. It’s really the same low which is even worse..
They’ve always applied the same methods / callousness / bs qualifications.
It’s just now that it’s hit the fan, and they aren’t even acknowledging responsibility so they probably won’t even attempt to change..

It could have happened before, and possibly again, heck - who’s to say that there weren’t others too whose suicides weren’t as obvious or notable. Damn.

(Reposting as there’s problems with servers my end and I’m not sure the comment went through.)

I know, it’s awful. Let me dig out the OCMB thread for you with a poster from CoS - you might want to have a squeeze ball or something handy when you see it b.c, RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE.

I would suggest for us please consider substituting a paragraph or inserting another to include the treatment of mentally handicapped and disabled members of Scientology (In particular the Reversby Murder and the Queen Street massacre) as well as the recent suicide linked to in an above quote.

I’ll have a go at adding something in over the next few days.

Please focus the mailouts towards OPPOSITION Members and INDEPENDENTS, with a particular focus to Ministers and Shadow Ministers for Disability and Mental Health, the Family First Party and the Democrats.

For South Australia/Rannistan:
I have been made aware that the State Government has ‘changes’ planned for several disabled services and organisations that may have a negative impact on those living with a disability and their families.
The Opposition will possibly be spending the next 2-3 Sitting Weeks discussing rights for the disabled and criticise the Government for their lack of consideration for Disabled families (depending on how severe these changes are–I only know that ‘things will be changing’ at this stage :P )

It would be good to strike while the iron is hot, with media willing to print stories about mistreatment of Disabled people and the trial of the Reversby Murder is still current news.

I also didn’t see these links in the post, so here they are: http://www.parliament.sa.gov.au/Members/HouseofAssembly/List+of+Members.htm - this has the list of the current House of Assembly
http://www.parliament.sa.gov.au/Members/LegislativeCouncil/List+of+Members.htm - this has the list of current Legislative Council Members (Please note that this may change soon)

http://www.parliament.sa.gov.au/Members/Ministers/Ministers.htm - List of Ministers
http://www.parliament.sa.gov.au/San/public/{5C02E978-93C2-4DB4-9353-CFFE6AA84053}/ShadowCabinetJan08/ShadowCabinetJan08.htm - List of Shadow Ministers

I’m pretty sure you can reach any MP by addressing the envelope with their name, and posting it to:
Parliament House
North Terrace
ADELAIDE 5000

I’m not even remotely clued in on how lobbying the “government works,” but would it better to be addressing our letters to Australia IRS?

If so, we could even have them all set to the one address, such that people can print, sign and send them on the day.

And as for location location, is there some way we can finish off under the veranda in Rundle Mall, and mail using the post boxes near the taxi ranks?

This would be more public and plus we would be in a better position to talk to the public, and could have preprinted copies ready to be signed, enveloped and mailed by members of the public. Hell the stamps would be on me…!

For the benfit of everyone new to anon and anti-Co$ alike, we need to provide confirmation of the next global picket on THIS SITE

Yes, enturbualtion.org alreadly has the all the information, but as anonsa, we NEED to swiftly add some details regarding the next protest. (Prefferably visible on the home page)

I’m hoping this will result in a bigger turnout…
Cheers
