remember, *together* we are STRONG - we are LEGION

quickest, easiest way to illustrate this to the public is all dressing the same, to show a united front (we also look spiffy and approachable) - it is impressive and it does stop traffic.

anonsebb: damn skippy this is anonymous! that means that YOUR opinion counts as much as mine (or any1 elses) so if u got a good reason why encoruaging uniformity in dress code and legibility in signs is BAD for the cause: hell, we're all ears. thats how this works. its all give n take n the best ideas rise to the top.

no1 is gunna stop u marching if yr sign has a typo, or you came dressed in shorts. we're just trying to ACHIEVE something here dude and sharing ideas about the best way to do that :)

PS any goodwil store or salvoes or st.vinnies will have cheap ass old man suits for like $15. or wear one your dad's business shirts.

Yeah as I said in a previous post along with a few other peoples..
the idea is to

(a) increase the general rep of anonymous,

and personally i think

(b) to increase the power of uniformity (you know like 100 agent smith's rocking up..) suits aren't for everyone obviously, but if people can stick to the same general colours.. e.g. if we all wore approximately "black" "white" and perhaps "red" it's have the same unified effect.

Yeah, no objections to that. Just don't want to see this getting too authoritarian or anything, as that's likely to exclude all the people who hear about the protests off of the net.

That's not really what I was insinuating, I meant more for the overall effect of the protest. Mandatory was probably the wrong word, but that's why I put tentative in front of it :P
I meant encouraging as many people as possible to wear a suit - you can't deny that is far more effective to have a group of people protesting dressed similarly if not identically, than a bunch of people dressed in whatever just loosely banded together. I wasn't suggesting we exclude anyone at all, that would be ridiculous.

And as for the legibility of their signs, I think it goes without saying that an illegible sign is a useless sign, and for the good of the whole protest, people need to consider their signs and make them big and readable. The OP isn't suggesting we exclude anyone on the basis of what sign they have, it's guidelines and hints for anyone who didn't know, so that the protest as a whole is more effective.

I don't think anon would exclude, I think that's silly. hell, last time we had a bunch of hanger-oners who came for the protest for shits and giggles and didn't even have masks.

Not that I encourage that behaviour. :P

"Also, are we making suits a tentative mandatory dress code?"

I certainly hope not. This is Anonymous, no leaders, no rules (other than the law), nothing. Anyone is free to come with whatever signs they choose, and whatever they want to wear. Of course, we'll disassociate ourselves from anyone who is being inflammatory or against our ends - but excluding fellow anons based on the legibility of their signs or the classiness of their attire is ridiculous.

Yeah I'm stuck too.. is there a problem with me putting the following on a sign?

"ET phoned home, why can't scientologists?"
OR
"Scientology Alienates families!"

I think they're good due to word play and pun catchyness...
but humour isn't out of place at the Reconnect rally is it?

Or am I being too sensitive..?

I also googled a bit to find other suggestions for signs. I found a site with some good ones (these and more):

https://cincyanon.wikidot.com/signs-fliers

Sign Ideas (Reconnect-related)

    * Are you Fair Game? Xenu.net
    * Want fair taxes? Xenu.net
    * Ask About the Mask
    * How is Scientology costing YOU with its tax exempt status?
    * Scientology: Church or Corporation?
    * Scientology - they have a Bridge to sell you
    * Trade secrets are for corporations -not- churches
    * The only science in Scientology is science fiction
