SAFETY INFORMATION

Some of this is a bit paranoid and overboard, but it’s a good example.

1. Things that people NEED to do. Make a flyer, and hand it out to protest organizers.
2. People with masks form the outside perimeter, people with face paint the inner perimeter.
3. In major cities (New York, San Fransisco, and cities of this size and income levels) line the mouth part of the mask with tinfoil. It’s not commonly know, nor do security firms wish it to be known, there are basically ‘xray cameras’ which can take dental images of people.
4. Walk with a limp, a hop, or by dragging your feet. Your gait is nearly as strong an identifier as is a finger-print.
5. Do not ever let a camera see your bare eye, nor through limited capability lenses. Your retina will reveal you if they see it again later.
6. Bend slightly at the waist when possible, alter your apparent height.
7. Wear a second shirt under your primary, change into it when at a safe location, swap outter wear with buddies for additional confusion
8. Avoid driving in their area, parking (Already well noted, but saying it again)
9. Travel in pairs. Make plans to travel in pairs until for sure nobody is following. Be careful!
10. They will probably at 10-15% of the protests try to start fights using 1-2 volunteers. This is a statistical certainty in my opinion. They will try to hit, kick, elbow as many people as possible to involve as many in a fight as they can. They will seek police help to identify the people caught up then!
11. Use a fictitious name when asked. Have it be something you can remember, but not one that will associate back to you. A grand parents name can work well here.
12. Avoid cameras that are fixed if possible! Cant help mobile ones, but any information that CoS gathers can be filtered by security experts like myself. This is a bad thing!
13. If asked by a policeman to leave, a good idea is to do so for 5 minutes, then all return at once. You obeyed, then returned as per law (in most areas) and it makes him look stupid to keep asking and gives a sign of strong determination. Plays well in media possibly also… this has been a fear of security consultants for a long time. Dont let on that this is the plan, just act like it is spontaneous in nature.
14. Get one person in each group to have a live mic, camera, etc… anything as evidence as possible.
15. Get one person in each group to make return comments. Dont let anyone else be asked anything in your groups. This person will reply to all verbal questions, taunts, etc. He/she should have a notebook with known crimes of CoS and harrassment methods. Read them as a response. Repetition in this. Do not openly reply to them, keep reading out loud in their presence, especially in USA where freedom of speech is guaranteed.
16. If possible have one extra person off and aways, a watcher with an additional camera, acting as a bystander. This person just says he/she is watching the event, and recording it since it seems ‘interesting’. Have this person give vague information when asked, usually pointing to the crowd and saying “ask them” I am just a bystander. Dressed up suits for this is best. This person is at risk however if CoS identifies the pattern. Try to make sure this person never is under any of their fixed cameras and is within any standing crowd of onlookers or heavily trafficked sidewalk. A coffee shop while enticing, is also a bad cover in general… who has coffee with their camcorder? Got to be discreet. Do not use this imagery on any websites. Keep it for if there is outrageous claims in COURT later. A surprise witness at the right time will mess them up.
17. Do not enter their property on the protest day. Some areas this can be seen as conspiracy to commit when in large groups with known crimes having started. Avoid risk of arrest, and instead use any of those tactics on other days, not the protest day.
18. If media shows up, have a single person who can speak with them. Tones, inflections, etc are as good as a fingerprint. But this is only effective when it is a single voice being recorded for the most part. Yes multiple voices can be used, but cant help that. Just don’t give extra ammo to them,
19. Bring your own food/drinks. I believe this organization is evil, and I would not put it past them to food poison a few groups with plants.
20. Assign 1 security type to be called by select members who can help if anyone seems to be followed to strongly, or if something odd is going on. This security type can cover several cities if needed, just have him be able to actually arrive in less than 4 hours, this should be quick enough to be there before traffic thins and such. This person can be responsible for bringing a taxi to get the person, for accidentally interfering with the followers, video taping unusual goings on, etc.
