Don't know if you guys have been up with the news of the last 24 hours, but the opposition leader has accused the ALP of accepting $20K in donations from a CoS front-group, namely, Applied Scholastics.
The ALP and the two pollies named by MHS were, to be short, seriously pissed off. Some delicious linkage of the ALP's rage and intent to sue by one of the pollies.
And my favourite: http://www.abc.net.au/pm/content/2008/s2556332.htm (Because of this bit: "NICK BOLKUS: The invoices are not ours; the whole lot of aspects of these emails are not Labor. This is the sort of sting that a mug would fall for, so my lawyers are very keen to look at this and the Opposition leader will be getting a letter from them.
Look, the only time I had any contact with the Church of Scientology from my memory was when I was a member of the Senate and I used to harass them on social issues.")

Oh it gets so much better.
This is magnificent, but we shouldnt rest on our laurels.
Mr Rann told Parliament on Tuesday that he "would never do a favour for the Church of Scientology".
Who the fuck are Applied Scholastics anyway?
need dox.
It also needs to be pointed out that he's doing a favor for them by allowing them tax free status by being a non-profit/'religion' in the states eyes.
I wonder if the media have contacted the CoS for comment. oh please footbullet.
EDIT: daww they released a boring statement:
"In the statement, church spokeswoman Vicki Dunstan says the church is completely non-political in nature and does not provide any donations to any party or political campaign.
The ALP state secretary Michael Brown says their records show Labor has had no dealings with any of the organisations mentioned in the emails."
YES, COMPLETELY NON-POLITICAL. RITE. AMIRITE. *looks at gold base bullshit about protestors*

EDIT: Oh WOW! just watched that video on whyweprotest of Mr Rann, that is bloody gold!
In 1995 Germany ruled that Scientology is not a religion; and if anyone could spot a dangerous fanatical movement, before it gets out of hand, its the Germans

I've also included the image from WWP on the forums, as it's gold, ace flyer material.

I think this may actually be worth an article on the front page.
anyone wanna write one? I've written my fair share and we need new voices :)
I shall make sure it's posted if its' good.
feel free to post drafts to this thread, if you change it, just edit the post, dont spam up the thread.
note: DEADLINE – must be done before the may protest, may 23rd it's good to have new content on the front page for it.

Late April this year, emails were supposedly leaked implicating the Labor party in underhand dealings with Applied Scholastics. ->
Later it was revealed they were forgeries. There is an element of truth in this discussion, regardless of the emails legitimacy, it's become obvious to the general public that Scientology is not a credible organisation. This same truth we have been reiterating. Scientology is dangerous, and association with it is damaging not only to yourself but your reputation.
"I would never do a favour for the Church of Scientology founded by a loony called L. Ron Hubbard" -(Premier Mike Rann, May 2009.)
We are now more aware of the insidious nature of Scientology and its appendage organisations. Their underhand tactics are now more than ever becoming transparent to the general public.
Admin: fixed to change start to 'implicating Labor'.

Listen to Premier MikeRann deliver the quote in parliament.

The public are becoming more aware of the insidious nature of Scientology and its appendage organisations.
Their underhand tactics are now more than ever becoming transparent to the general public. I do not believe that this would have been achieved as quickly without efforts like Project Chanology and groups like AnonSA.
This is why we must continue.
END
thoughts anyone? I shall post ~ 8pm tonight.

cross-post from comments on front page:
Perhaps now might be a good time to launch harpoons against Scientology’s infiltration of the SA public transport system.
In the past, agents have noted that murals on Goodwood train station are maintained by Scientology – a plaque even states that all quotes are attributable to L.Ron Hubbard (an official Trans Adelaide sign too).
Messages in the mural are aimed at children, regarding drugs (is this NOT controversial after the young girl in Sydney killed her Sci parents after they told her to stop taking her psyche drugs).
The Adopt-a-station guidelines (http://www.transadelaide.com.au/community/adopt_station.htm) CLEARLY state that groups are not to advertise commercial ventures, religious messages OR anything ‘controversial’ and I’d say Scientology’s anti-drug stance is ALL THREE:
1. CoS is a profit-making business (Transadelaide cannot promote businesses as it is a STATE OWNED ENTITY and its guidelines clearly forbid this) 2. CoS anti-drug message is religious in nature (a huge part of Scientology beliefs) and Transadelaide’s guidelines clearly forbid this 3. CoS message is controversial (cite Sydney example of girl killing her mother-sister and injuring her father in 2007 when scilons refused to allow her to take her anti-psychotic medication + Today/Tonight coverage of Child Labour Abuses at CoS) and Transadelaide’s guidelines clearly forbid this
The guidelines also state that adopted stations cna be revoked from a group, if they break the guidelines :D
Clearly allowing a controversial, profit-driven pseudo-religious group to use publicly-owned assets to promote themselves, is in conflict with the policies stated by Trans Adelaide.
TL DR: If Mike Rann would NEVER do a favour for Scientology, why does his Govt provide the church with painting supplies to maintain a controversial, religious message that promotes their business interests _on public property_ in clear contradiction to State Govt policy?
if anyone is interested in firing harpoons, PM me (all research, photos etc have already been done [on marcab: http://marcab.ning.com/group/operationfreeambassadors a letter to the crudvertiser is about all we need now imho)
