I think it would be great if we could do some chalking of pavement.
This is during the protest, and maybe before.
it's cheap, it fades away, and provides information easily in a bold fashion.
does anyone know of any good reason why we CANT do this? It's not really graffiti if it's washed off in the next downpour, or just by the number of people walking over it.
Because i think this is something that should be done. even if it's just simple stuff like linking to the website.
I think this is something anyone can do, regardless of whether they're protesting anon, on a mini raid or just everyday. I propose a chalking campaign.
eg, hit up your local pavements near and around:
shopping mall
post office
banks
etc
Any place where large amounts of people frequent.

Good idea!
It can't be illegal, can it? I mean, every christmas pageant there's hundreds of kids chalking hopscotch and pictures of kittens and Father Christmas onto the closed off roads, they only difference is that this is informing people of what's going on in their city.
We could have a "hopscotch if $cientology's a cult" out on the pavement! XD
Anyway, this is a hell of an idea, very eyecatching.

Interesting idea! Hmmm.. it seems like something 'done' but I'm sure it's probably frowned upon in some way.. =) Worth looking into though! And so long as it's pavement and not 'private property' it's surely ok..
But psychedeas is right! It's done during the Xmas pageant. So we at least know its ok to start platering anti xenu kitty kats all over the road then! =)
Lol @ hopscotch idea!

I have a mate who is a graffiti artist, according to him any medium that is water soluble is legal. :)

^ Sweet!
But would we need any kind of permit to do it? You need one to busk for example, but that's probably because you make money out of busking.

As soon as I can, I'll go buy some big sticks of chalk.
The pavement near the beach in Mosley Square gets a lot of traffic, also Wigley Reserve, I can get there pretty easily.

411 Fullarton Rd FULLARTON (Corner of Fisher St)
get your chalk out and get bizzay – this place is surrounded by footpaths and has a gigantic car park that is publicly accessible and not on private property

Hey folks, we should be careful (not that we haven't) to make sure we continue to swing the public. Whilst Chalking seems to be legal, and I've seen it done on vids from the U.S. at large events, in open areas. In the Adelaide CBD, it may simply be called an eyesore. Simply put I don't think a lot of the public would instinctively approve, and it often looks messy and hard to read. Banks and other conservative places are going to have people walking in an out who won't approve of it. Perhaps somewhere like glenelg or beachy happy places might be more fitting, or even play grounds.
Plus we don't want scilons trying to misrepresent it as "internet gang tags or whatever.." which will probably be the next step. And of course it does take a while to chalk something up properly, plus it's indiscrete for the person doing it… Not as efficient, or neat as a quick sticker or poster.
Just the thoughts of one person.. (What are yours?)

A couple of years ago, I saw a couple of dudes chalking the sidewalk to advertise some show at the rhino room, they were requested to stop by the police, and informed that they did requrie some kind of permit/permission from the council. So, us as an organisation, can not condone the chalking, if you do so, you will be representing yourself and yourself only.

Technically we're not meant to hand out fliers either.

Perhaps true, but I'm simply talking more in terms of public response.
Offering a flier won't get a bad rap -e.g. it's not disreputable
Depending upon who your talking too.. chalking may be the same as graffitying
Besides we can have signs saying ask about our fliers and fried pikles!
But can't put signs around saying look down for anon propaganda.. lol! =)

Good point. As webadmin, I'm just stating the official view of the website – I can't control what any of you do, I'm not going to stop anyone, I'm just trying to keep all bases covered to avoid trouble myself. ;)

its a 'use your noodle' situation ie a few select spots r cool, others r obviously not – just be smart about it
wot about a buskers permit to chalk? a few anons _legally_ chalking the mall one afternoon would be way more effective then a haphazrd late-night footpath raid. just sit there drawing a giant guy fawkes mask (or maskssss) and answering the Qs of curious passer-bys – thoughts?
totally unrelated: any1 notice the blackboard outside Gloria Jeans in the mall? i can't help but want to dust the 'come in for a vanilla latte!' message off and chalk up "Gloria Jeans funds exorcism of teen girls!! Google it" or something similar hehehe

We should just bring our own chalk boards in and use them! <FAIL> Awww… =(
As for Gloria Jeans, leave them alone.. if I want an exorcism with my latte I'm damn right entitled to it. Even if I were underage… Lol!

Gloria Jeans have connections with the Hillsong Church and the Mercy Ministries.

I don't drink coffee anyway. Starbucks makes better hot chocolate.
Don't let my grandma find out, she'll try to exorcise the black dye from my hair. She's fairly sure that it's the devil.
