Operation Raiders of the Lost Books: How many Scientology books are in the libraries of South Australia? With this op, we can work together to find out where the books are. Then we can systematically card and re-shelve these books on a regular basis. US version on YouTube HERE
1) Locate a list of libraries in your local area.
This is usually available on Google by easily searching. Remember that libraries may have multiple branches. List these results on your local wiki or forum
List of ALL SA libraries
2) Gather all relevant info about each library
Go thru The List (*see the end of this post), and gather all relevant info for each Library (street address, website address, online catalogue website address, opening times etc) and paste the info into List, so each library has all its details listed in one big easy-to-access List.
3) Link locations to Google maps Street View
Go thru all the addresses in the list and then make them link to a Google map (StreetView). That's making it easy for others.
3) Search for Scilon books at each library
Go thru each library's online catalogue, search for 'scientology', 'hubbard', 'way to happiness', etc. Add this info to the list. Where a library does not have an online category, anons can nominate themselves later on down the track, to attend library in person and search for books. The list can then be updated
* IMHO NEEDS A LIST OF RECOMMENDED SEARCH TERMS*
4) Complete this list for all libraries.
To go the full distance, you would have the library name (with a link to the library web page), the address (with a link to a google map), and a list of all the books contained therein + opening times. Now you have an effective, printable strategy guide to follow, and by listing it publically, all your friends do too.
^THIS Post the list on AnonSA/wiki so that anyone who wants to stop by a library can simply print out the list and make their rounds. Many hands make short work. Booyah!
5) Raid libraries!
With the handy printed guide, track down each book. Insert a card or flyer into the book. SEARCH FOR AND TAKE THE BUSINESS REPLY CARDS. Have fun with your new messages, on the church's dime.
6) You can choose to put the book back in its place or…
you can choose to put the book back somewhere completely different; or you may hide the book. If you do this, you can lay it flat on the top shelf if there is one, or put it behind some (hopefully boring and unused) books.
7) Report back to this group when you've hit a library – update The List whenever new info comes to light, or when u hit another library…
8) ????????
9) PROFIT!!!
This Operation has gotten as far as #2 – mining library websites for information to add to the The List. We're trying to build a comprehensive guide to all the libraries in SA, what Sci books they have etc
A few steps later, we're raiding libraries across the state.
The List (so far):
Thanks to http://www.libraries.sa.gov.au, we have a comprehensive list of all libraries in SA, with links to all their info… opening times, links to on-line catalogues, physical addresses… all this info should be condensed down into ONE master list, so its all accessible from the one Master List, with all the extraneous details removed, and any other important details added in (like Google StreetView links to make it super-easy for future raiders)… I'll start on the As….
