Tis a good question! I think if we can accept that people might be away for a december one… then we should really try and get a decent turnout for november! Can we get contents for a CD together and up somewhere? then we can get burning and do a good distribution!
Btw, wat date is the November one? I'll copy pasta a flier asap for distribution!

We should address the upcoming heat. We could wear long sleeved white shirts with akubras, to keep the heat off and aussify our group. Whats the collective think?

Seems to be the 8th, which is also the day of the Pagent, might be a good way to get more info out to parents, esp if we use fliers that focus on ex-sci kids, kids in the rpf, that sort of thing.

Im still working on the CD, it wont be done for another few weeks or when i get around to doing it. Its going to be a reasonabily high quality/long movie, ie, not intended for email transfers, ill make a power point after its complete.

We'll need to confer with the cops if we protest on the same day/place as the pageant won't we? We'd also need a new route that works with the pageant's: http://www.cupageant.com.au/194.aspx
Will we look imposing to the children? Should we wear colourful stuff so that we fit in with the pageant? And also, seeing as many of us won't be available for protests in dec (myself included) could we wear santa hats to this christmas pageant-protest?

i am steering well clear of the xmas pageant – loads of ppl, loads of stress and loads of traffic! not the most receptive audience for masked folks pushing flyers, imho
we are also not bound by the global date – some time later in the month (22nd or 29th) would net us moar attendants (ie after exams etc) and wouldnt clash with any major events
it would also give us an extra 2-3 weeks to invite ppl to the raid, to get the numbers up

A christmas theme would be awesome! I only say this now because like others i will be unavaliable for the december protest (unless its in the first week of December). The christmas pageant is indeed a little risky thats why it would be advisable, not to be close to the vicinity of the pageant route. In my opinion, a less crowded area, that is on route to the pageant, ie, a few streets away that travellers will be going past to get there. Just an idea. If we did it on that day, santa hats and /b/ells along with reindeer are needed for epic win!

the pageant's a big day for everyone (parents n kids alike) and i srsly doubt any1 would even notice us amongst the chaos, let alone engage us in srs intellectual dialogue
we don't have to raid the same day as every1 else. is later in the month better for students sitting exams/writing final essays??

While the pagent might get us more exposure i dont think its really our target audience, the only thing we could try is as Anon23517 said that we angle it at the child aspect to get parents worried. im going to try and make it to this one, had to work the last couple of times, any idea when a date will be decided, because nov 8th is now probably too late to start organising for large crowds.

I do agree with EOS & dogFud. We'd be competing with the pageant which would probably reduce our impact. Plus there would be that whole freaking out the kiddies thing.. plus with the necessary police presence, anon there may not be the best chemical to drop in the cultural stew.. ummm.. so to speak =)
We don't need to protest with everyone else. I think lets pick are more convenient date and go with that.
We should either a) pick one asap and get some posters out! or b) go with an impromptu mini raid. ??

impromptu mini raids arnt too good for me, need to get out of work. but i thought we wonted larger numbers for the november raid. we could combine two elements, do a mini raid with very child orientied flyers at the pagent and then try and get a big group together for the end of november.

How do we feel about the 22nd? Is that more agreeable with everybodys commitments? That would give us some time to prepare. Also, we're working getting a bunch of pamphlets together on the cheap, mainly 'Why we protest', 'Why do we wear masks?'. Does anybody have any others they would like printed?

AnonVocis usually brings masks to each raid, if not, pm him and ask.
@AnonVocis
22nd November is a good date for me, personally. Still working on the dvd, i'll also get 50 or so pamphlets printed out before then, i just don't have a template to print; unless your willing to just print out extras. Last few protests (small or big) where handed out very fast, we usually seem to run out don't we?

off topic: there is a chanology project underway that requires some letter-writing to our local political friends. if this is something u r comfortable doing (ie using yr real name on the letter) pls contact me via private message as harpoons are most definitely required
add me on the marcab netwerk, for moar info (likewise, anyone who may be available on a weekday for a 'quickie' mini raid, contact me)
as for Nov 22: what's the plan route-wise? from vic square, to the end of the mall and back might be the go.

what i might try and do is make an A4 sized flyer outlining the basic flaws of scientology, or maybe a timeline of its crimes.

Both sound good. If you're interested when I frirst joined an anon showed me the way to a site which archived Scientology related news articles in Australia since 1959 up untill 2000:
http://www.suburbia.com.au/~fun/scn/press/
Also of interest is the Anderson Report (If you haven't already read it). It's an official government inquiry into the claims/practices of Scientology in Victoria.

This just in, i finished the hand out dvd video. I could probably upload it to a site and post the link to anyone that requests it if they do. Its fairly basic, i restarted and revamped pretty much everything, tried to make it look a little more professional. Although, i would like someone to tell me whether the final part is appropriate.
On that note, does anyone know of a good program to design CD labels? Also, what sort of disc should i purchase? its about 120mb (5mins long, high quality)
Cheers guys.

How cheap are min-cd's these days? that could be interesting. I'm not sure about labeling programs though. If you want to upload somewhere i'll have a look and offer feedback.

Hmm, i didn't think of that, Mini CD's would be a great idea, if they are the same price or cheaper. Also a lot easier for me to hand out. Im upload the video to megaupload now, ill pm you the link when its done.
EDIT: Just checked dicksmith, they seem pretty damn expesnive, aprod $16 or $11 for 5 or 3. Im pretty sure im looking at the correct product.

Good job anon1919, from a mass production / cost standpoint, it may not be worth us making a whole labelled CD like the original version that went out ages ago. Perhaps the cheapest way is to purchase a whole stack or two (that are simple and white), then dogFud if you an produce some of those small rectangular stickers that have been used in the past we can simply slap one of those on each CD, and package them in those cheap cd slips. It'd be optimumally cheap and look good from a simple black white colour standpoint also.
What do you think?

I don't think i was with you guys when you handed out the CD's with the stickers etc, have to give me a refresher. But yeah, seems good. I'll end up getting like 80 in the end, assuming everyone will accept it (which they will).
