I think they've been alright. but I think more up beat ones are better for morale and attention.

E.g. more energetic ones like that tetrix breakdown remix or whatever…

less of the sort of kiddy pirate stuff which made it seem like a pageant! =)

I agree with some upbeat stuff, and would like to see ride of the valkieries by wagner (the piece from the helicopter attack in apocalypse now) in there.

I have a boombox i can probably bring (and it can run off batterires so dont need power) although it doesnt have any iPod link so all music would need to be in CD or tape form, or if someone has an FM transmitter then it would be able to interface

whilst wagner would be awesome, I think the 1812 overture is enough in that regard, and I think it's possibly more rousing. plus, it doesn't have nazi overtones (hitlers favourite composer was wagner, heavily associated with nazis in the blues brothers). And we don't need that IMHO.

sooo you gotta be a little careful with that.

Bring the boom box, that's be great :D

just make sure you have batteries.

I recently got my hands on some awesome happy hardcore… or is that TOO upbeat? :P

it'd be gr8 to have more than one source of music – then the secondary source (whoever's bringing up the tail – or on the corner, down from the CoS) can get a little more loose with the song selection – still no nazi overtures, but less 'scilon specific' tracks (rickroll etc) and just general happy dancey lulzy shi-ola

I personally don't think so, but then again, I spin it, so my opinion might be slightly bias.

the moar boomboxes the better :D

i am lucky enough to be the proud owner of a true tape-to-tape 1988-era 'ghetto blaster' that i will def bring to the next raid. the thing is mental loud, but dunno how long batteries will last (have to bring some spares) and whether i can hard-wire my iPoo into it (we'll see)

eos: good werk with the tunes at the last raid m8 – u might find some good suggestions for raid music over on the enturb forums. let's start brainstorming some moar too eh?

Knights of Cydonia – Muse

Chorus is somewhat appropriate:

No one's gonna take me alive
The time has come to make things right
You and I must fight for our rights
You and I must fight to survive

I always felt the song "This hear Attack" by Faker related to disconection.

But really obscure metaphors aside, I think we need either upbeat music or more obvious music. May 10th music was awesome!

Main Lyrics

This heart attack
I've gotta get away, not coming back

Complete Lyrics

I’m going away to be alone I’m coming back with answers
Don’t try to call my telephone it’s disconnected
And I don’t know where I’m going but can you guide me
But if I find love where I’m going will it survive me
‘Cause in your own space you’re disconnected and in your own mind you’re not affected
And in your own time you’re still attracted but in your own life

I'm pretty sure we need moar:

Captain Planet
Pokemon
Duke Nukem
Power Rangers
Biker Mice
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (srsly)

Related songs. What would be more appealing then a bunch of people walking down the street with masks and banners with the power rangers song playing? unfortunately i listen to metal so i can't really suggest lots of…. public friendly songs that have related meaning, although Own Little World by celldweller might be appropriate?

I've got an iPod boom-box that runs off of AC and batteries, which I'll bring along.

I'm not entirely sure of what music we should play. Anything catchy and with a beat. I'll think of some specifics.

We'll bring 'We're In the Money', 'Money Money Money', 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire', with some fun stuff, and also:

All The Things That Aren’t Good About Scientology (Something For Kate)

Hello, is anybody home? The lights were on.
Try and switch to manual control
But it's been on autopilot for so long
And I’ve been working on the theory that
Someone’s always worse off

And I’ve been thinking I’m too young

And now what
For you –
What are you going to do?

Can't consume slowly, too much to see
Too much to read on your Bridge to O.T.
But someone, somewhere is
Pushing the world around on four wheels
And tonight in your town
Tom Cruise is looking down on you and me

Ch

The news comes twice a week
Like a Chinese whisper
Not the same when it reaches me
Safer to see than to be seen
Safer given lines to drive
Between, between, between
And it's such a small room
It's a danger
And the pictures on the wall
Might mean nothing at all
But they're mine. Will you notice?
Will you notice? Will you notice?

What will you say?
What will you say?
Any attempt to compensate
Would not go unnoticed
And I’ve been thinking
I’m too young for all of this
Too young.

Where’d You Go (Fort Minor)  –Great disconnection song

She said "Some days I feel like shit
Some days I wanna quit, and just be normal for a bit
I don't understand why you have to always be gone,
I get along but the trips always feel so long
And, I find myself trying to stay by the phone,
'Cause your voice always helps me to not feel so alone
But I feel like an idiot, workin' my day around a call
But when I pick up I don't have much to say
So, I want you to know it's a little fucked up,
That I'm stuck here waitin', at times debatin',
Tellin' you that I've had it with you and your career,
Me and the rest of the family here singing

"Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone.

Please come back home."

You know the place where you used to live
Used to barbecue up burgers and ribs
Used to have a little party every Halloween with candy by the pile,
But now, you only stop by every once and a while
Shit, I find myself just fillin' my time,
With anything to keep the thought of you from my mind
I'm doin' fine, and I plan to keep it that way,
You can call me if you find that you have something to say
And I'll tell you, I want you to know it's a little fucked up,
That I'm stuck here waitin', at times debatin',
Tellin' you that I've had it with you and your career,
Me and the rest of the family here singing "Where'd you go?"

Ch

I want you to know it's a little fucked up,
That I'm stuck here waitin', no longer debatin'
Tired of sittin' and hatin' and makin' these excuses,
For why you're not around, and feeling so useless
It seems one thing has been true all along,
You don't really know what you've got 'til it's gone,
I guess I've had it with you and your career,
When you come back I won't be here and you can sing it…

Hands Held High (Linkin Park)

Turn my mike up louder I got to say something
Light weights step to the side when we come in
Feel it in your chest the syllables get pumping
People on the street they panic and start running

Words on loose leaf sheet complete coming
I jump in my mind and summon the rhyme I'm dumping
Healing the blind I promise to let the sun in
Sick of the dark ways we march to the drumming

Jump when they tell us that they wanna see jumping
Fuck that I wanna see some fists pumping
Risk something, take back what's yours
Say something that you know they might attack you for

Cause I'm sick of being treated like I have before
Like it's stupid standing for what I'm standing for
Like this war's really just a different brand of war
Like it doesn't cater the rich and abandon poor

These fuckers are laughing their way to the bank and cashing the cheque
Asking you to have compassion and have some respect
For a leader so nervous in an obvious way
Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay

And the rest of the world watching at the end of the day
In their living room laughing like "what did he say?"

   No More Sorrow (Linkin Park)

Are you lost in your lies?
Don’t tell yourself I don't realize
Your crusade's a disguise
Replace freedom with fear
You trade money for lives

I'm aware of what you've done

No – no more sorrow
I've paid for your mistakes
Your time is borrowed
Your time has come to be replaced

I see pain I see need
I see liars and thieves
Abuse power with greed
I had hope I believed
But I'm beginning to think that I've been deceived

You will pay for what you've done

Ch

Thieves and hypocrites!
Thieves and hypocrites!
Thieves and hypocrites!!!

Your time has come to be replaced
Your time has come to be erased!!!

So Say We All!

Funny, I too was just thinking No More Sorrow would be a good song to play. They just played it on the radio, and I thought it'd be perfect, but you beat me too it. :)

Cheers,

Ant.

"We are Australian" (of course, changing "Australian" to "Anonymous" when you sing it–this was attempted in the June raids, which was the last one I went to :) )

We are one,
But we are many
And from all the lands on earth
We come.

We share a dream
And sing with one voice.
I am
You are
We are

"Chocolate Salty Balls"

Also, the song done to "Hyaku Go-Jyuu Ichi" from Pokemon (about Cruise and being batshit insane) was pretty cool.  I wouldn't mind a copy of it, actually :D
