Probably have a very similar route, perhaps stopping at the cult center before advancing towards rundle mall.

We might have the same theme as last time, ie tax the bastards, perhaps anyway, we'll have to work that out.

there is however a problem with this fake e meter/gullability test idea.

it takes the focus away from their unethical business practices, their litigious nature towards valid criticism and their human rights abuses and places it instead on their beliefs.

i did not think that their beliefs were the issue.

yes, it would be great for the lulz, or as a hook to get some information on the above business practices etc. out there to the people, but we cannot take the test aspect of it to seriously/far.

otherwise it is only a matter of time before these protests descend into "alien ghosts lol" territory.

just 2 cents from a n00b.

Yeah I do agree with Johndoe.. not that an emeter/gullibility mock up isn't a good idea, but in many ways it's not ideal for a raid..

There are more effective ways to exert our energies  and spread our message at a rally / raid at least.

"By itself, this meter does nothing.'' — Excerpt from a disclaimer found in every E-meter book, and on the device itself.

hmmmmm well scilons use e-meters to perform "security checks" on under age kids, working for Scientology for less-than-slave wages… but if we highlight that, we're 'religious bigots'? not sure about that. the e-meter is a fair target to protest imho [moar info here]

the e meter /stress test scam is also one of the main tactics the cult uses to recruit ppl – its a huge case of "bait and switch"; i thought i was getting a stress test – but i was doing a scientology sessions, with an e-meter?

here's the Chaser boys doing it a lot better then I ever could… notice how they have a little visitor at the end…

imho a fake e-meter is all cool*
is your objection to the term 'gullible'? perhaps 'anti-stress test' or something else would be better?
answering Qs from the public about e-meters:
1) leads to lots of good convos about scilon abuses
2) schools the public about e-meters so they won't fall for a Real Stress Test one day!

*although loose wiring, out-of-season clothing and a backpack are 3 out of 4 of the visible signs of a terrorist suspect, so sniper fire might be moar of a concern then offeding scilon religious beliefs ;)

either way: we could use some ideas for new shit to do at the raids.
imho 2 anons wandering down the mall with a 'Free Anti-Stress Test' kit and some well rehearsed gag-lines would be way moar effective then half a dozen Anons holding signs in an empty back alley near a closed bookshop – but thats just my $0.02

excellent point, and one worth making people aware of. nobody who deserves to be called a person likes the idea of children being exploited.

i myself have no problem with the term gullibility, although i think using it would do more harm to the cause than good ("these people bellieve this, they r dum lol"), and that is my worry. plus there are tons of worldviews/religions/philosophies, that to me, are just as crazy in their beliefs (read: almost all of them) out there.

of course, the e meter is, i suppose, disconnected from those beliefs, and used as a hook to con people into swapping their hard earned money by making them think that something is wrong with them and that only scientology can help – unethical business practice ahoy!

so perhaps we do the opposite, hook them with a fake stress test (perhaps using the same questions the scilons use, if not then similar loaded/joke questions), claim that they are stressed no matter what answers they give and maybe even offer them choclate or sex or cake (or a combination of the above. choclate sex cake!), some of the best ways to destress ever. then diseminate flyers about how actual e meters are as fradulent as ours – cut off their potential recruits at the source by making them aware that the e meter and the auditing is a trap. prevention is the best cure after all.

this has the advantage of a) being new b) getting the public involved in ways beyond them asking "why the masks?" and 3) nothing, i just like lists of three. i guess the lulz would be good too.

done right, it could work quite well.

re: loose wiring and omg terrist, that is easy. make it so poorly that it appears that the only way to do harm with would be bludgeon someone with it. empty cans hooked up with string and pegs to an anon. bonus points if it is to the nipples.

lol – for our simple Stress Test, we could ask Qs like:

What situation would u find the most stressful?
A) being actively kept apart from your friends/family so they can't 'deprogram' you?
B) signing up to 'the most ethical group on the planet' only to be co-erced into an abortion?
C) being denied medication despite a history of psychotic behavour and medical advice to the contrary?

of course, each Q coincides with a real-life story we can discuss further (perhaps with a handout with linx etc)
a) Jenna Miscavige's story
b) Mary Tabayoyon's experience with co-erced abortions in the Sea Org
c) Sydney case of scilon who murdered her father, sister and injured her mother after they denied her access to her medication

would obviously need a few rounds of questions (say 3 or 4) in case we get a few ppl gathered around; can't have them hear us repeat the same thing 10x in a row

SOUNDS: we could get some good 'thinking music' too, like the 'millionaire' music – 'who wants to be a scientologist???' and yes, CHOC CAKE has got to be the Perfect anti-stress solution :P (well, legally speaking… hehe)

"Would you like a free stress test? It's just for lulz, we don't try and recruit you into a cult at the end or nuthin – instead, we have caek!"

so… who can bake? or should we go down the path of individually wrapped tailor-mades?

Good input guys! Firstly as a side, i think generally people may be shy to accept non-wrapped stuff from people in masks.. but hey.. a big cake could be different.. also how do we do it on the go? We kind of can't setup shop so to speak…?

Once upon a time I toyed with the idea of a "FREE HUG" coupon basically saying "feeling stressed?" you need a hug, not a scientology stress test. Then breaking down the stress test and how it works on the back – e.g. it's essentially like a dodgy mechanic offering people free car check-ups. The test may be free but their going to find a bunch of non-existent faults to feed your fears and make you come back to pay for services and repairs for problems you that you don't have and don't need!

Anyway I think it could be a goer, but we'd have to sort this out asap if it's to be our theme. No that we've talked it up a bit I do believe it's doable, but maybe focus not on the religious aspects but that the emeter as a "scientific tool" is flawed and acts as a pseudo science device to market their religion. Perhaps push the fact the emeter is a religious artefact – they 'believe' it works, and doesn't actually scientifically do anything. Perhaps hand out pictures of the emeter with large labels saying whatever the chief american engineer demanded be stuck on it when they started claiming it cured cancer etc..

i had no intention of making e-meters 'the theme' – i just wanted to kick start some lateral thinking as to how we could enturbulate differently/better.

of course, we would also need some lulz questions

"on a scale of 1 to garfield, 1 being strongly like and garfield being an orange cartoon cat, how do you feel about mondays?"

"have you ever, ever felt like this/when strange things happen/are you going round the twist?" <- sung, of course

"do you ever forget what you are saying during a… pineapple? hedgemaze? SENTENCE!"

i was thinking about making a mockup after thursday (payday) that would consist of a scale with some smileys ranging from happy, neutral and sad and a needle that we can move around this. no matter their answers, it must land on sad. made of cardboard, with some fake dials glued on and worn around the neck. very portable this way.

i was also considering making some simple "hello my name is…" nametags. this can either just be anonymous, but was partial to the idea of "hello, my name is legion, for we are many". if anyone is interested, drop me a pm.

Something I thought amusing:

Get an A2 (2xA3) sheet, printed out, put on cardboard.

print tom cruise laughing on it.

get post it notes.

write "thetan" on them.

+ blindfold

Pin the Thetan on the OT.

Just found a song on my itunes that could be a good song to play during the next raid.

Hymn for the dead by Anti-Flag

Lyrics seem relevant, ie, speaking out,  lives exchanged for profit, etc.

Lyrics here – http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/Hymn-For-The-Dead-lyrics-Anti-Flag/6BF49F6AEDA6252C482571200005C59E

Just a suggestion.

Another thing i've been thinking about was poster and pickets etc, we really dont have a lot of them in our raids. I think short/simple posters/banners will do the trick. it

Scientology KILLS. find out more – *link here etc*

Saves people asking wtf is going on, just having scientology and kills next to each other sorta makes people take interest, wouldn't you say?

Its goes both ways. On the one hand you sound like a extremist saying Scientology Kills and then having them meet a normal scientologist who says anon are crazy extremists. Bringing up things like Tax etc, or the fact that their founder is a sci fi writer, or the xenu story (which does have an impact even tho were not out to attack their 'beliefs') or even bringing fair game etc, or even handing out photo copies of the tax the cult escapade or maybe copies of them breaching public trust in other countries etc hits home more!

Even copies of the time magazine cover the cult of greed and power with the link would be good! It makes the source more credible e.g. its easy vicki dunstan to accuse masked weirdos of being crazy then accusing time magazine of being crazy..

tl:dr it's a double edged sword.. Scientology Kills is a high impact statement – but unless we follow it up asap with some 'proof' ppl may not be convinced.. maybe should burn some good anon documents onto CD's again and hand them out! People don't "litter" cds. They put them in their computer out of curiosity!

Maybe add the Anon Gold pack, along with the scientology cult of greed and power! along with perhaps a quick 15 slide power point presentation that simply, flashily and quickly states the facts! (Also add the anderson report! We need some program essentially or a link to wtfaustralia..?

Maybe even slap and paste of the Time Cover on the cd slip – all up its a pretty effective package, with low costs! How much is a spindle of 200 cd's these days? like $50 bucks?

I'd get onto this myself but I'm afraid I'm tied up this month.. =( Sorry =/

By the way we should change the front anon site page to say when the next raid is! =)

we def could use moar visible signage while we walk along… esp when its only a small group raiding

short, punchy statements lacking in ambivalence are the best ways to communicateour purpose. ppl get the message without needing to take a flyer.

also, might be preferred method of communication for anons who dont like talking to the public :)

Two of my favourite quotes apply here:

"extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence" – Carl Sagan

and another I don't remember the source for.

"well reasoned arguments don't fit on placards".

…so you have to make allowances.

it's finding a good middle ground.

Ie, if you're going to carry a 'scientology kills' placard, you better be packing some good info on you too for distribution.

Hmm yeah, thinking about it, it might be a little radical lol. But you get the idea, something to catch the eye, obviously KILL is going to get attention, but like you said probably not the best option.

I like Thetan's idea. Burning a couple hundred CD's with some facts and dox on it could be good. Maybe just ripping a youtube video and converting it to AVI format or something and chucking it on the cd? The video entitled "The un-funny TRUTH about Scientology" could be a good one. Link here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCGP-0545EU or maybe does anyone know of another video that has short sharp interesting facts, saves a lot of time compiling your own video or slideshow. That way creating 100 CD's and printing say what thetan said, the time mag front cover as the CD's cover, would only take a few hours, for the printer/burner to do it all?

Anyway, i still think some bold statements or Hubbard quotes for example, would be good to flash around the public, its more effective then yelling across the street to some guy whos thinking wtf is that mob of losers doing.

I would be hessitant to distribute The Unfunny Truth to randoms on the street. It's quite heavy stuff, and something i'm sure not all people feel comfortable watching, let alone being handed it off the street.

I remember the 1st protest we attended when a nice anon handed us a copy of an information dvd, although it's not directly related to the Scientology Kills theme, it's still a very good starting point. We still have the raw files for that dvd. It's called the Gold -Info-Packet, although it would require some tweeking as new information has come to light. Does anyone know how to print onto cd's?
