I agree that Tax Exempt should be a main focus point during each raid because its already go public attention so it would probably be good to keep pushing it. Personally i think it would be good to stick to one particular theme as its easier focusing on it and having that as our first goal to be achieved. For example, if in days/months/years/decades to come, The government decides to remove $cientologies tax exempt status, that is a huge blow and will be national, as well as international news i assume (?); which would then make it easier for us to protest and focus on our other themes. I think if any, the tax exempt issue will be the start of a slow end to the cult of scientology, just my opinion anyway.

In 1995 Germany ruled that Scientology is not a religion; and if anyone could spot a dangerous fanatical movement, before it gets out of hand, its the Germans

The show idea is good. I'm close friends with a show organizer, so I'll have a chat to him about legalities of protesting in/near/outside the show-grounds.

If other Anon want to contact Royal Show people, the details are as follows:

Telephone: 08 8210 5211
Address: PO box 108 Goodwood Road, Wayville, SA 5034.
Email: info@adelaideshowground.com.au

I'll let you guys know what my friend says, if Anonymous is so inclined, and the show organizers have no problems, I might be able to get Anonymous free entry.

I'll keep you posted.
Later,
Ant.

I feel the themes are important because they encompass the other reasons why the Co$ is insidious. Also, the tax issue is a major point, but  it's not the only point to draw attention to. The more points of the argument we bring to light, the easier it is for people to see the merit in what we're doing. If we keep the theme static we run the risk of losing our monthly novelty. Also, If we continue to push the line of economics then we will lose the more socially concerned audience.

The govt review of tax exempt religious businesses is underway and the treasury was harpooned with informative letters and emails from aussie (and even non-aus) anons. I don't think that 20 protesters in little Adelaide are going to influence the review much further. The tax issue is being seen to and my judgement is that we should join the rest of the country in turning our attention back to the general public, for whom child abuse is more alarming than abstract tax fraud.

The Child Abuse theme may also serve to shine some light in the direction of the many high school kids getting gamed lately. The event tickets needed to be sent to the printers pretty early in the piece, so they'll say 'Operation Tax the Bastards v2' no matter what we decide the theme will be :S

PRESS A generic press release, alerting the media of our next protest, needs to go out ASAP (ie like now dude) so the time for theme debating is at an end :P Anyone?

Edit: Would it please anonymous if the press release just states "Anonymous in SA will continue raising awareness of the national senate's upcoming review of tax exemption for charitable and religious organisations, by protesting under the banner 'Tax the Bastards' again this month.

"Anonymous will also be drawing attention to Scientology's use of child labour and accusations it's responsible for the mental and physical abuse of children, as highlighted recently by Australia's 'Today Tonight' and even ex-cult members, such as Jenna Miscavige, niece of Scientology's leader David Miscavige."

Whatchaz think? ^ can also be written the other way around; with school's closed the main theme, tax the bastards secondary. I have a media list to send this to, but could use a hand finalising it all – that means YOU. We should aim to send it Wednesday morning (Sept 3)

+ 1/4 page handouts for any1 mini-raiding between now and Sep13

I agree with including both, with tax secondary: "Anonymous will be drawing attention to Scientology's child abuse etc… Anonymous will also continue raising awareness of tax review etc…"  Perfect.

@ anon vocis. thats interesting… i've been concerned about the reverse. I'm of the mind that we are communicating to different people each time, and if assume they received / are upto date on last months basics, then they won't know what is going on. Plus if we keep changing from issue no1 to issue no2 to issue number 10 then were just hitting random ppl who don't know about us with less important facts.

Perhaps we need to push the tax issue as our primary (and it's current) plus our main goal, and add cursory second issues each time?

By the way. I've realised that getting people to agree is one thing. Getting them to take action is another.

I think maybe we should put a flier that doubles as a mailable letter in their hand WITH a stamped addressed envelope. Pushing that all they need to do is sign (name postcode sign) seal and post it? We should coordinate this with other states tooo? (ignore the cost issue of the stamps… for now..) would it work?

@every1 – can some1 else write up a press release? i am flat out the next few days.

@thetan – the review has already begun, but letters may still have an effect; worth a crack i guess. if u can send me some words, i'll slap together a form letter we can run off.

MINI-RAIDING – now's the time to organise ourselves. we need to hit the streets over the weekend, in the evenings next week or *something* to give out all these event tickets. groups of 2-3 will suffice.
EDIT: PM if u r interested in mini-raiding on saturday 11am-1pm or otherwise

here's some handouts, with moar info (and we can change info about next protest, each month): 4 per A4

my boombox had a bad weight to volume ratio (ie it was too heavy to carry and didn't make enough noise!!) although u have to admit, cassette tapes are very much the f u t u r e

in the short term: yeah bring back the lil amp i say

as for the long term: there are some mad plans floating around on the inter tubes for portable stereos that run off of car batteries/solar panels, you can mount them in any sort of trolley or anything to cart around behind your bike (on your bike!) or what have you – even like wot sydney has here

would be a helluva project if there's any anons out there who can wire shit up like that?

Speaking of which… It occured to me that a good rick roll at the malls balls is not only in order,

but also will bring in lots of good attention =)

Can we get that added to the play list… plus may be a few print outs of the words… allthough you should all have them memorised by now! Otherwise that is your tylor durdan homework for this evening. Learn the words! lol! =)

does any1 have that song from the closing credits of the movie 'The Bridge'? it samples Ronnie Miscavige (asthmatic dwarf has a /b/rother!?)

"disseminate… sell books… get people in… make them into scientologists!'"

EDIT: found it

my crew will have: boombox, camera, handouts and MAYBE signage
