What other religion sends out press releases every time there's a disaster and they helped some people?

St Vinnies, The Salvo's, sometimes get a mention on mainstream media, but that's about it.

Lazy media outlet, they even showed that it's copypasta from the CoS.

What's so important that they're scientologists? I don't even need to say it's a PR exercise, because it says on the article that it's DIRECT FROM THE CHURCH. no reporter involved.

It's nice that a few scientologists fed some people (article quotes 3000, I wonder how much the red cross/salvos did?), I'm sure they're pretty good people. But you betcha that I bet some of those people had to hear all about L. Ron Hubbard and they 'totally have to buy dianetics'.

They even mention "Assists" in the article in relation to helping firefighters, which would be great if someone actually important in the media reported, because they're absolute bull, it's the Reiki ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reiki ) of Scientology, except they take it even further.

Read some of the stuff on assists, it's really wacky.

Wikipedia: Assist (Scientology)

here's my favourite assist:

Locational Processing Assist

In this assist, one simply points to various objects and asks the subject to acknowledge them. The purpose is "directing a person’s attention off the painful area of his body or his difficulties and out onto the environment." [6] The Locational Processing Assist is touted as an antidote to alcohol intoxication. The Handbook claims "It can make a drunk person sober in a very few minutes". [7]

HOLY SHIT STOP SPAMMING US

Hm. I just had a thought. I wonder if we can get this and the information regarding the 'touch assist' bullshit into the hands of Bryan Seymour on Today Tonight.
