Hey, I'm new to these forums, I'm interested in joining in on your protests. I'm wondering though, would you guys accept a 17 year old?

Hello Enthalpy, and welcome.
I would get your parents permission before coming, and I'd reccomend that if you want to go, to take one of your parents. That said, I think we've had a fair share of 17 year olds at our protests.
there are risks that come with protesting scientology that would be foolish not to talk about.
There are reasons we look stylish and wear masks :) to cut it short in case you don't know:
The masks are to protect our identities from being "Fair Game", basically the 'church' can lie, steal, cheat or even destroy us with no repercussions. check our media gallery for flyers, i reccomend 'binaryburger's account.
Our Admin has already been fair gamed, if you look through our news posts you will see where they sent him a cease and desist letter.
to give your parents an idea of what our protests are like, I reccomend checking out an Adelaide Anonymous Youtube account: http://www.youtube.com/adelraid . I reccomend the march protest.
I'm curious though, perhaps you could post in the thread about "why YOU protest?".
where'd you first hear from us?

Welcome aboard Enthalpy! Absolutely! I think a lot of people who attend are younger than you. Anyone and everyone is welcome. Heck if your wearing a mask how would we know?! Lol! As was debated some time ago. There is no "membership." You just decide if you are with us. And sounds like you are!
@ Anon1138: you think I'm paranoid! Lol!
However, Anon1138's advice is prudent, but don't over worry. I think most of us are here without our parent's / whoevers permission, most parents just don't want to their kids getting in trouble is all, and you won't.
Do wear a mask, if not bcos it looks good, and if you don't want to go a suit like thing just wear non descript clothes like jeans etc so you can ninja away afterwards. Oh and do think who you tell you do this. Not that you of all people will get fair gamed, but its just prudent..
Just to give a quick thing on what to expect – we're just ending winter which thawed our numbers a bit. There could be anywhere between 20 to 50 of us (rotating pending upon who is slack or not). Plus if you check enturb, our evil twins in the 4chan basement may be coming to the next protest. So we could have much more (100s again? Hmmm a bit ambitious.. we shall see.) Simply don't be dismsayed. Oh yeah, and um expect weird looks, and don't worry about the police they have been awesome, they know we've had 7 months of peaceful protests, they know were not criminals of some hate group their smart enough not to buy that rot – and are there to simply ensure there are no traffic issues or confrontations. Heck we even talk to them! =)

anonymous won't 'accept' illegal behaviour. that's about all. oh and u must be a 'cat' person ;)
just be cool when u protest (we need hate and violence like a fish needs a bicycle) and use yr noodle. we're trying to get a message out there in a peaceful manner – not bludgeon anyone. don't forget the lulz ppl!
heed anon1138's advice and make yr own choice about yr level of personal involvement. read up. hit us up in IRC. if u decide to become anonymous, do yr best to stay anonymous. creepy weird scientology is creepy weird.

Suit: If you want a decent one on the cheap, hit up op-shops – they usually have _heaps_ and the mask:- Spotlight, Reject Shop & Go-Lo have masquerade/papier-maché masks that suit Anon very well, or check out this thread to put your name down for a Guy Fawkes/V for Vendetta mask (they usually end up costing $15ea in the prev orders we have done).

not the guy fawkes masks, but u can find those plain white masks at the cheapo joints, or Spotlight etc
have seen bart simpsons masks for $2 in k-mart, along with transformers, ninja turtles, superman etc

My brother is your age, and also protests, so no real problem that I can see.
Welcome to Anonymous, I'm not going to repeat what everyone else has said, but if you're in need of a suit please drop me a line, and if you're my size I'd be more than happy to either lend you a suit, or sell you an older one of mine for whatever you can afford (even $5 would be fine).
If you're not my size, I still might be able to help you out. My grandmother works for Goodwill, and might be able to pick you up something.
